Hello, folks.
Happy New Year!
For all of us here at Murderby4, 2011 was a challenging year. We suffered job losses, serious health issues, family traumas, and so much more. So I think all four of us are REALLY looking forward to a healthy, prosperous, and more "normal" year!
But what's normal? For some, it's minor day-to-day troubles, like cars breaking down or washing machines overflowing. For others, it's taking care of a disabled spouse (two of us at MB4 do that), and for others yet, it's a combination of both. Whatever comes our way, however, we know we can get through it. If we survived 2011, we can do anything!
Of course there were many blessings during 2011, too. I--for one--was grateful for a daughter's wedding that went off without a hitch, to my publisher for releasing two of my books (FireSong and For the Birds) and for the new possibilities with audio books.
But like the sweet breaking dawn, 2012 will come with whatever it wants, and we are determined to greet it with expectations of great joy.
For the next year, we'd like to offer some new special features! I've just been in contact with Warren Adler, the best-selling author of over thirty-two books and author of War of the Roses and Random Hearts, a few of his well-known books that have been made into block-buster movies. Warren has agreed to be a regular guest poster for us this year! So here's the new feature:
MONTHLY BESTSELLER BLOG - featuring Warren Adler
Neat, huh?
Okay, we are still going to do the writing critique feature, where you submit a writing blurb and all four of us take a go at it - all with positive, constructive criticism, of course! You can see the instructions on the home page of the blog, here. We'll post one critique per month.
And if you would like to be considered as a guest blogger, stop over here for our submission guidelines. We've had some great traffic on this site, so take a look at your best possible writing-related articles and think about submitting them to us! As you know, we've had wonderful articles from publishers, agents, writers, and industry experts. Why not join the elite and give it a shot?
Also, we will be randomly choosing excerpts from books we like to post as great writing examples. What do you think of that? Sometimes I find a passage from a fellow writer's book that just blows me away. I'm sure that happens to you, too, doesn't it? Of course, we'll get all the appropriate permissions. ;o)
What else would you like to see us do here at Murderby4? Give us some ideas, and we will consider them!
Warmest regards from Aaron Lazar
Happy New Year!
