I am celebrating today, I mean, my book is literally alive now. It has a face, a persona, something tangible that people will recognize it by. That's like being alive, right?
I am also very thankful today. And what better time to say so, right? This is what Thanksgiving is all about.
My thankfulness list begins and ends here.
To my circle of three who make up the rest of the FOUR in "murderby4", Marta, SW, and Aaron: You are the reason I am where I am today. If not for the support, love, and friendship of our group, I would be lost. You are the salt to my pepper, the sugar to my spice.
This Thanksgiving, I am spending time with family face to face, but that's what makes our cyber home here so wonderful. I know that you are always with me, no matter where we are. Heart to heart.
And not to sound like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, but, there really IS NO PLACE like home. Cyberly or otherwise. And I appreciate this one, and all the people who visit it. You fans, friends, followers, are the lifeblood of this site.
So, over the next four weeks, to keep you fed, I will be giving you all the info on the book. The journey, the wrong turns, and the right ones. I hope you will tune in and see where I came from, and where I hope to go. Then, on December 18th, I will post my "book's birthday". It'll be a party, y'all. Come on in!

That's it in a nutshell, Kim. I understand exactly how you feel. I have cyberpals that mean the world to me, yet I've never seen them face to face.
ReplyDeleteIt is a truly fascinating world, & I'm with you: grateful & awestruck by my good fortune.
Best of luck with your book. You are so worthy.
Aw, Kim... *sniff*

Kim, I'm so excited for you. I know the highs and lows of your travels and yet you didn’t quit. You persevered and kept at. You've given so much and deserve every success!!
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated at how the four of us here at MB4 got together, SW and I met on a crit group some years ago then Kim joined a few months later. SW knew and encouraged Aaron long before she and I met or the creation of MB4. I met Aaron at another site and immediately clicked with him without realizing he was the Aaron SW always wrote to me about--that was a real "Oh WOW" moment—crazy! You, Kim, have been there for me every time I've need my hand held, Aaron is the cheer block behind my Harper series yet Sam Harper would have never happened if it hadn't been for SW poking me in the ribs two years ago saying, "keep at it--you can do it." You are each a part of my books (open to any page you like and you'll see yourselves there.)
Helping one another, that's what friends do and not due to an obligation, but from a deep desire to see each other succeed and that, my friends, is the thrust behind MB4.
Many blessings to all.
How nice to read the heart-felt sentiments. We really do bond here on the Internet. I have cyber friends that I met 12 years ago and we still correspond, even though we have never met.
ReplyDeleteKim, you are so sweet. I feel the same way - it's such an honor and pleasure to be part of this family. ;o) It's like the four of us were truly "meant to be," isn't it? Thank you for your contributions, and congrats on the near-release of Avenging Angel! Can't wait to read it!
