SW is the one who "fixed" me on this front - highlighting the "to be" verbs as crutches. Although it's natural for us to say in conversation, "He had silver hair," it's much nicer if you can change around your sentence to say something like, "the wind ruffled his silver hair," or something like that. Thanks, and a huge congratulations on your new contracts!Aaron Paul Lazarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06117814221437165664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001825743960552008.post-47888743200501329002009-01-22T09:09:00.001-05:002009-01-22T09:09:00.001-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Kim Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13933746166088034102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001825743960552008.post-71499182510240307112009-01-22T09:09:00.000-05:002009-01-22T09:09:00.000-05:00Thanks SW!Thanks SW!Kim Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13933746166088034102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001825743960552008.post-8792798056001732972009-01-22T09:04:00.000-05:002009-01-22T09:04:00.000-05:00Kim! You're right; it's so hard to 'get' what that means. This is a great trick to use.s.w. vaughnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09102544611773720262noreply@blogger.com
