Welcome to your new novel

Yesterday I received an email from the organizers of NanoWriMo that my 2009 novel beckons. For those of you still unfamiliar with Nano and what it is all about, click here and read up.
NANO INFO

I have participated every year I could, not to finish and get the cool badge, but to get in a serious amount of word count. The first year I did it, I wrote the bulk of Avenging Angel, and the second year, I wrote the bulk of a historical/paranormal YA, that as of yet has not gone anywhere.

I think this sort of "get in that writing chair" sort of competition has a great following because we all want SOMETHING to poke us and make us write. At least it works for me!

I hope this will be the year I use all this hard effort to turn out a 50,000 word count that turns into the best book of my life. I hope if you participate it is the same for you.

So here's to Nano and to all the people who will turn the entire month into a great big writing event. If you have a team, or want to be my friend on the forums etc. at the Nano site, look me up. I will friend you back. Let's make this year, the best year ever!

I've never participated but should. I'm afraid I couldn't keep my internal editor from making me stop along the way and "fix it" though. I know, bad, bad, bad. LOL
Good luck to you! I'll be anxious to see what you come up with.

I haven't participated either. It's the time of year. Hunting season. This is also the week of the Surrey International Writers Conference in Surrey, BC. Chances of attending either one if slim. Good luck to the participates tho.

Good luck, Kim! I tried to do NaNo a few years in a row and failed, and finally I just ended up having too much "I have to finish this now" writing to do. Boo. But I think it's a great program and really helps a lot of people get motivated!

Kim
I would like to be your friend on the Nano site.
This is my first try. I just want to see if I can finish 50,000 words. Have a plot in mind. Hoping it will flow easily. What about typos do you fix as you go or do that when all done?
I know it said no editing.

Good luck to everyone doing NaNo this year! I find that I write much more when I feel like I'm "cheated" out of writing time (the quest for that sweet piece of the day when I can just write...) versus when I schedule or force myself to write. Weird, I know. But that way I write a few thousand words a day without worrying about it! LOL.
